Political Leadership Institute

The Political Leadership Institute, or PLI, is a one-day workshop in February that kicks off HealthSTAT’s advocacy work during the Georgia General Assembly legislative session that stretches from January to March each year.

We invite a community leader, lobbyist, or legislator to talk with students about the legislative process and how to be effective healthcare advocates. Communication skills and strategies are discussed at the level of state and local politics. This is followed by break-out sessions covering HealthSTAT’s session-specific Legislative Priorities for more in-depth training and education on current topics in addition to background and strategy moving forward into the session.

For more information about the PLI or other HealthSTAT advocacy events, please email act@healthstatgeorgia.org.
